Queen's Park has become the latest Spider to re-sign for Sean Crighton. The midfielder re-joined Queen’s Park last summer – 12 years after he left the club for Dundee United. On his return he featured 44 times – five as a substitute- and contributed four goals. Among them was a crucial match-winning header against Ross County which helped lift The Spiders up the William Hill Championship to eventually finish sixth. A senior member of the squad, Aidan has agreed a new contract until the summer of 2028. First-team manager Sean Crighton said: “Since he arrived back at Queen’s Park Aidan has been an infectious and important character around Lochinch and The city Stadium. “He has been key to building that strong experienced core in the squad alongside the likes of Euan Murray, and someone who can help our younger players on and off the pitch with the way he conducts himself. “He was an important player for us last season, start to finish, but more to towards the end where he made some key contributions, I am delighted he will be back with us again.” Aidan added: “I’m delighted to be back – it was an easy decision to make when I was discussing this season with the manager. “I just enjoyed my football, enjoyed being around the boys and the club was so welcoming from the moment I came back in last summer. It was a great dressing room with some good young players who I’m looking forward to seeing kick on again this year. “There will be some new teams in the league this year but it doesn’t matter who is in the William Hill Championship, it’s always tough. “I’m looking forward to it, and getting back among the team at pre-season, after a bit of down-time during the summer break.” Further updates on Sean Crighton’s first-team squad will be announced in due course.
