Queen's Park will look to arrest a slide in form when they visit Arbroath in the Scottish Championship on Friday evening. The Spiders have lost their last two matches and sit ninth in the table with just four points from seven games.
Recent struggles
Their most recent outing was a 2-0 home defeat to Ayr United last Friday, which followed a 2-0 loss away to Dunfermline Athletic. The only win in their last five matches came against Greenock Morton on September 5. Their recent form reads LLWDL, with three goals scored and 11 conceded across the season so far.
Arbroath, their hosts, are two places above them in seventh and have also found wins hard to come by lately. The Red Lichties have lost their last two matches as well, including a 1-0 defeat at Stenhousemuir. Their last home game was a 1-1 draw with Dunfermline.
Manager Callum Davidson will be demanding a response from his squad after the flat performance against Ayr. The team that started that match featured goalkeeper Josh Wills, a back four of Carlo Pignatiello, Euan Murray, Ricki Lamie and Ryan McLean, with Alex McCallion, Stuart Martin and Aaron Connolly in midfield. Charlie Smith, Tommy McDonnell and Michael Ruth formed the attacking line. Davidson may consider changes to find a spark.
A positive result at Gayfield Park would provide a vital boost ahead of a busy period. The match kicks off at 6.45pm on Friday, September 25.
